Product Junkie

I am turning into a product junkie and I've only been transitioning for 4 months..lol I keep telling myself that I just want to be prepared for when I finally do the big chop in May and that if i buy a little bit each month it's better than buying all the stuff all once...yeah right.

At this point I'm about to put hair spending on ICE!!! I am about to limit myself. I don't want to end up with a bunch of stuff and having the products not work on my hair. So this is what I've purchased so far...hee hee

Komaza Care -coconut hair care kit (sample size)
Shea Moisture Leave-In Conditioner
Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner
Miss Jessie's Value Pack
Aloe Vera Gel
Shea Butter & African Honey
Fantasia IC Gel
Coconut Oil
Bomba-Deep Conditioning Treatment (Dominican hair product)
Trader Joe's Nourishing Spa Conditioner

I have been getting sample sizes of products when possible, so that I can test them out on my hair to see if they really work without committing to full size items with a full size price tag. My plan is to stick to a product line for at least a month before giving up on it an moving on to another. I am sure something in a line will work and some wont, but I want to give them a fair shake.

There are still a few more things I want in my natural hair arsenal:
Knot Today and Kinky Curly Curling Custard
Elasta OP-Mango Butter Moisturizer
Oyin Handmade -4 piece hair care sampler
Vegetable Glycerin

For the most part 99.9% of the products I have and want are "natural". Once I pickup the other things, I swear I ain't buying shit else until I use up the crap and have...who knows I may find what works for my hair right off the bat...LOL (could that be wishful thinking)

I did the same thing! I think it's just part of the excitement of what's to come. It's good to be prepared. Now that I'm natural, I'm struggling with the desire to try everything at once!

You go girl going natural!!! I"ve been natural on and off for the past 13 yrs. I made the permanent transition to natural 1 1/2 ago and I LOVE IT!

It is exciting finding all the new products created for our natural hair. I did the same thing as you and went out and bought everything i could get my hands on. Now my collections has narrowed down considerably. As I discovered what worked best for my texture hair I became less adventurous. I can't wait to see the results once you are completely natural. :)

I had to limit myself also. Mostly, because I was on a college student budget. I found that regular household stuff you can find at Wal-mart or Target works just as well: Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner, baking soda, apple cider vinegar and castillo soap and etc...

Say It Loud: 'I Am A Product Junkie and I'm Proud!!'
My sisters will call me to see either what I think about a product or to try the product before they buy it.(lol) But tell me, what do you think about the Komaza Care? I was thinking of purchasing their sample kit.

Not to add to you PJ habit, but you might want to try Ohm Body. My faves are aloe gel and the hair spray. That and Oyin. Those two are the truth.
I'm always in search of my holy grail hair savers and these two products are the closest thing to it.

The journey that you are on, I was on 3 years ago and I've never been happier. I've learned so much about my and my body. This process is amazing and so freeing. I know that my hair responds to natural and organic products. That's great for me because I make most of my hair products. One of best advice I've ever received was to put product on wet hair and in sections. And if you have little frizzy just take a dab of condition to keep it at bay.

I hope that helps you and blessings on your natural hair journey.

I have been transitioning as well (3 months in) and I am at a loss with products and have bought a ton of them too! Glad I'm not alone!
